About Me

In 1999 I began cycling again as a means of physiotherapy and to help improve my strength and fitness after an injury. I dusted off my old Ritchey mountain bike from the early 1980s and set out into the local trails.

A quick upgrade to a full suspension bike left me searching out greater challenges. I soon was reminded of racing through the trees at hare scrambles & enduros on the many dirt bikes from my younger years. Since then I have met some of the most interesting people and had a more exciting life as a result of traveling to and riding in places I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.

After a fun and rewarding 2007 season, we felt that our race results would be greatly improved by being members of a well organized team.

The Spoke O’Motion team was our first choice for many reasons. The staff at the store have always been a pleasure to deal with sharing the same genuine passion for the sport of cycling as I’ve had since my earliest memories.

The team’s impressive results from individual members as well as their results as a team speak for themselves. I’m anxious about the 2008 season and hope that our demonstrated dedication to cycling is an inspiration to others to take part in a great family activity that can be enjoyed by men, women and kids of all ages.

2008 Racing Season

For the 2008 race season I want to continue to improve my fitness and skills as a rider while encouraging others to realize the benefits and joy that I have found through cycling.

I have been consistently spinning using the trainer and motivational DVDs since the 2007 season ended. I also take advantage of our extensive variety of weights and equipment to keep other muscles prepared for the 2008 season. A one week mountain bike vacation to Cuba was very encouraging showing me just how strong we can stay when we keep active throughout the off season.

I’m very excited to be racing in Master Expert 40-44 and representing the Spoke O’Motion Team this year.
