About Me

I had some friends ask me if I wanted to go to Durham forest for a ride in the fall of 2000. So off I went on my rigid frame CCM Silver Bullet wearing a baseball cap.

Then the following spring I had another group of friends ask me if I wanted to ride in a race that lasted 24 hrs!! I didn’t have a clue what they where talking about but hey…I was game, I had ridden in the bush once. So we banded together, came up with a training schedule, and all went off to buy new race worthy bikes. We were committed! I might ad I bought a helmet too. I had been bit by the mountain biking bug!

I have met so many fabulous people on the trails over the years, creating some great friendships. I’m very passionate about mountain biking and I encourage my family and friends to participate so they can share in the positive experience that mountain biking has given me.

Riding gives me a fit body, and a clear mind. Our health is first and foremost, everything else is secondary.

Attributes

I have a positive, supportive attitude and look forward to being part of the Spoke O’Motion team. Leading by example is key and by being a good ambassador to the sport I hope to encourage my kids and other moms out there to have fun and get fit.

2008 Racing Season

My personal goals for 2008 are to improve my fitness level, refine my riding skills, and have a race season as equally rewarding and fulfilling as I have had in previous years.

In 2008 I plan to race in the Ontario Cup, Coulson’s Hill, Durham Forest series as well as the 24hr events.

My training has consisted of intervals on my trainer combined with running and weight training. This year I have expanded my training by reading up on sports psychology because I believe racing to be as much a mental game as a physical one. What the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve!
