It was another fantastic day for maintenance at Coulson Hill. The weather was great! We managed to rebuild the 400 bridge. The bridge is longer wider and most of all a lot safer. We also reclaimed a forgotten trail and built a new bridge on that trail due to a water crossing. This trail can be found by taking the 400 side fire road south all the way to the new bridge that we built. Cross the 400 bridge and not far down the fire road on the right is an awesome trail that was forgotten. Lets all try to ride it on a regular basis to ensure that the trail does not get overgrown and lost again. Please give us feedback on this trail as I think most everyone will like it. We also cleared away some fallen trees in the pine forest near the parking lot as well as repaired some other bridges. We have also covered some exposed roots near one of the bridges for a smoother ride. Please note that this section will be a little soft until the traffic that goes through it get to be regular again. See everyone on Saturday morning at 9am rain or shine.

I would like to thank Matt and Merv for coming out today and participating in today's trail clean up. We spent all of our time in the upper pine forest by the rock piles and raked every trail in there. We also removed some fallen trees thanks to Merv and his trusty chainsaw.  We will have one last trail clean up day before the racing starts. I will post the day and time as we get closer to that day. Remember, this trail belongs to everyone and everyone is encouraged to participate in trail clean up day. Happy trails to everyone.

Thanks to Rob and Merv for the great work on the bridges and trail maintenance!  For everyone else who uses these trails, There are still quite a few trails that could use a good raking. So if your planning a ride this week, take your rake with you and spend 20 mins raking a trail before you ride. We will all benefit from a little work. ;D         Matt

Hi Jason, We will have one last clean up at Coulson Hill this Saturday at 9am. If you want to be there for that just bring a rake and pruners. I was at Coulson Hill today. I managed to rake all the trails located in the pine forest by the parking lot. I also placed a roof on the sign that is in the parking lot. We just have to straighten out the sign on Saturday. As Matt stated, there are still a few more trails to rake. I will show anyone who shows up on Saturday where they are. But feel free to go anytime. Just walk around the trails and rake any trail you see that need it. For anyone who would like to join us on Saturday please bring some garbage bags as there is a lot of garbage around the trails and the parking lot that needs to be picked up. See everyone on Saturday.

Mike and I took a ride around Coulson Hill the other day and found that there are a number of trails that have over grown in the last few months. We will be looking for some volunteers to help us clean up these trails in the near future. I will post a clean up day shortly. For anyone who is volunteering, please bring weed eaters rakes, garbage bags pruners etc... Again I will post a trail clean up day and it will be announced at the Wednesday night race. Thanks to everyone who volunteers.

For anyone who is interested in helping out with trail maintenance, we will be meeting at Coulson Hill for 10:30am Sunday May 30th. We will meet on the 12th line which is at the back of Coulson Hill. Please bring rakes, pruners, weed eaters, garbage bags, and small saws for oversized branches and if anyone has a chainsaw we might need that as well. We would like to concentrate on all the new trails as Myles will be incorporating the new trails on the next set of races after this Wednesday. See everyone there.

I would like to thank Mike Lindsay, Jason Marlatt and Mike Ciglic for their help today with the trail clean up. We are currently clearing over grown trails starting from the 12th line and we are working our way south towards the 11th. There are a lot of trails to clear and our next trail clean up will be next Sunday June 6th at 9:30am. The meeting place will be at the 12th line. I do encourage everyone who attends the Wed night races to join in on the trail maintenance this Sunday as we need all the help we can get to keep this forest clean, fast and fun for everyone.
