Goals

Strategies

Boost Lactate Tolerance

  • Healthy diet of LT intervals

Continue to improve handling skills

  • Race weekly at Coulson’s
  • Record and document suspension settings and tire pressures that work on individual race courses.

Ride first lap (at least) with the lead group at O-Cups

  • Attack start line at Coulson’s and lead out as much as possible
  • Include some sprint starts to LT intervals

Suffer more

  • Develop a good mantra to repeat when digging in.

Increase power

  • Over the winter ride higher gears with a lower cadence
  • Develop a smooth pedal stroke

Mad lean angles!

Life gets busy in a hurry. As a Masters rider I have cut my hours back to average 10 per week, but I will make every hour count.  I will make maximum use of recovery time to prepare for each ride.

Besides training and racing for myself I would like to continue the group rides for the junior riders that we began in the fall. I preach training, preparation, and specific race skills to them and, they continually show me their superb handling skills. It is a reciprocal relationship.

I would also like to expand upon the riding I do with my 7 and 9 year old boys. I would like to develop a riding program aimed at boys and girls their age.
