2016 Rocky Mountain Vertex 970 RSL

Lightweight, stiff, and fast — your competitive riding buddies are not going to like this. Rocky Mountain's Vertex 970 RSL is crafted from high-modulus carbon with a press fit bottom bracket for excellent power transfer and a tapered head tube for supreme control. In or out of the corners, bumps disappear under the big Wheeltech 29-inch wheels and ultra-light 100mm RockShox SID fork. The Shimano/Race Face 2x10 speed drivetrain with an XTR rear derailleur and Shimano XT discs shift and brake just as sweet as the frame rides. Add in grippy Maxxis tires, and a Race Face bar and stem and this stealthy XC rocket let's the speed do the talking.

    Comments:

Picked up a 2015 Rocky Mountain 970 RSL as a replacement for a Trek Procaliber I was running and haven't looked back. Rocky Mountain have outdone themselves with this Carbon Fibre frame construction, it truly is hard to fathom how they managed to make such a rigid/strong/durable/responsive frame this thin and light. I have several other full suspension bikes (Cannondale Scalpel, Santa Cruz Nomad, Scott Spark 950), and they are all have their own specific great traits, however when its out-and-out speed for XC trails, i ALWAYS reach for the Vertex, and it never faults. Totally worth every penny, and was a great investment.
