No matter what kind of bike you have, you'll benefit from Speedplay's Frog Titanium pedals. These lightweight amphibious creatures are almost completely immune to mud and dirt thanks to tough resin bodies and an ingenious design that allows the cleat to engage the pedal instead of vice versa. It's a great pedal system for off-road riding, centuries, touring and commuting thanks to the recessed cleats that allow you to walk freely. Plus, they're super light and feature all the innovations that have made Speedplay famous including: limitless, knee-friendly float; easy, dual-sided entry and exit; exceptional cornering clearance and rugged construction.

The Speedplay Frog cleats shed mud and dirt during use so they never jam.

  • Increases Pedaling Efficiency

Cons

    Comments:

The speedplay frog Steel, Stainless and Ti mountain bike pedals are for road and mountain bikers who want really reliable and effortless release with totally reliable retention, low friction bearings and easy servicing. They have essentially no platform and you must use mountain bike shoes with the frog cleat. They are also not the best pedal for cyclocross as the eggbeaters and time pedals release is easier for dismounting and sheds mud better.

    Comments:

After having difficulties with my knees I bought these some years ago. Perfect sollution, however you do need serious stiff shoes as the pedals have a small surface... Getting in and out is no problem, I do ride a lot in the Dutch and Belgium mud, never had serious problems. [...]

Excellent for road - ok for off-road

    Comments:

Speedplay claims these pedals are useable for offroad riding - I've had them for a few weeks now and that's not true. They're perfect for road use and ok for dry offroad use, but when it gets muddy, watch out! The pedals themselves don't collect mud, but the cleats do and entry is near impossible.
