In our inaugural race season, 2007, Team Spoke O'Motion took to the Ontario Cup Race Series like the riders we are: We gave it our all at every event, we supported each other through mechanicals and victories alike and, I must say, we made an incredible showing on the Club Challenge points race.

Let it be known that the podium is not an unfamiliar place for the people that don the Spoke O' colours. Karen Thompson was our star rider, as usual, and smoked the entire field all season long. Matt Saunders rode to his most successful season ever and is looking to build upon his winning ways for 2008. Looking to the future, our young riders demonstrated the sportsmanship, commitment, and love of competition that us "old folk" hope never to lose.

In the team points race, Spoke O'Motion, with a crew of only 10 riders, finished just out of the top 20 in a field of almost 200. This is astonishing performance for a first year team with so few riders. Most teams in the top 20 had 30 -40 riders representing their cause. Clearly, we are talking a case of quality versus quantity.
